Head uptown on Thursday for the start of Bronx Week, a celebration of that borough’s diverse art, food, music and culture. The program, in its 40th year, continues through May 22 with a fair that includes rides for children; a film festival; and a Diva Spa, with hours of free manicures and massages, among other events.
Trolley tours, sponsored by, among others, the Bronx Food & Sustainability Coalition, will reveal the borough’s growing number of urban farms. The tours end with a stop to hear local musicians at a “casita,” a small rural home modeled after those found in the Puerto Rican countryside. (Most events are free, but some require tickets. The full schedule is atilovethebronx.com.)
